The Bachelorette alum, 34, and the comedian tied the knot in an intimate backyard ceremony at their home on Saturday, March 22, according to Us Weekly. Two days before their nuptials, the couple told the outlet they had decided to move up their wedding date because Thurston will begin treatment for her stage 3 breast cancer on Thursday, March 27.

“You would think it would cause more tribulation or problems between you, but it’s bonded us more than anything else, which is why we’re moving up the wedding a little bit,” Thurston said during the March 20 interview.

“Obviously, we were wanting to plan a wedding,” she continued, “and there’s a lot of emotions that come in with chemo and the impact and the health and we don’t know what the next year looks like.”

After making the decision to marry early, they flew in their parents, obtained a marriage license and asked a friend to officiate their ceremony. They said “I do” with their parents and dog Charlie by their side, and then celebrated after with a dinner at Da Andrea in New York City, per Us Weekly.

While the couple plans to have a bigger wedding in the future, their simple, low-key ceremony at home was particularly poignant and memorable.

“It was this kind gesture of [Arcuri] saying, truly, in sickness and in health,” Thurston told the outlet. “He is proving that he’s here to stay. He shows up every day and he does it in ways that just continue to surprise.”

The former Bachelorette lead announced her breast cancer diagnosis on Feb. 15, just months after getting engaged. She and Arcuri told Us Weekly the diagnosis has only reinforced and strengthened their dedication and love for each other.

“I want to be able to be in the hospital with her and just be like, ‘My wife’s in there,’ ” Arcuri said. “There’s more power to that.”

The comedian popped the question in August 2024 on a remote beach. Thurston shared a carousel of photos from their engagement, and ended the post with a video of Arcuri getting down on one knee.

“When you know, you know🤍🖤,” she wrote at the time.

The couple later hosted an engagement party in November. Thurston posted details from the celebration on her Instagram Stories.

The first photo featured their black-and-white, winter-floral welcome sign. “We’re so glad you’re here,” the sign read. “Celebrating the love of Jeff + Katie.”

Thurston then shared a selfie of herself and her then-fiancé, as she planted a kiss on Arcuri’s cheek. The former reality star wore a sparkly white dress, which reflected the fairy lights in the background.

“Did we just get married?” Thurston teased on the post.

According to Us Weekly, Thurston will be taking part in the I-Spy breast cancer trial, which could include several rounds of chemotherapy, and will later undergo surgery.
